Palestinian journalists have called on the authorities to release three colleagues who were detained for allegedly spreading false information.
The Palestinian Journalists' Syndicate said the detentions were a violation of freedom of the press and the Palestinian publishing and printing law.
The journalists were detained after an investigation into allegations in a London-based Arab newspaper that Israeli police had caught four Palestinian police officers naked in Israel.
The Israeli security forces have denied that any such arrests were made.
