Afghan opposition commander defects An opposition field commander in Afghanistan has defected to the ruling Taleban movement. Agha Shireen Salangi said he had left the forces of Ahmad Shah Masood: he accused Ahmed Shah Masood of being anti-Islamic and said he was controlled by foreigners.
