The Names of Those who have been Arrested in Syria in
December 1999 - 21 March 2000
The Syrian Human Rights
Committee received the following letter from the Media Office of
Hezb-ul-Tahrir about some of those who have been arrested for
expressing their opinion in Syria in December 1999. SHRC demands the
release of these citizens as well as all political and conscience
detainees in Syrian jails, and confirms that suppression practised
by security and Moukhabarat forces will never stop Syrians
expressing their views and opinions in all current and crucial
issues of the country:
Those arrested for expressing
their opinion in Syria:
The following are the names
of a group of people who have been arrested by the state apparatus
in Syria, commencing from the date 12/12/1999, and still remain
under arrest. The reason for their arrest is the regime’s fear that
they will criticise the regime and expose its surrender of the Golan
to American forces and the surrender of Palestine to the
Jews.
