Six die in Bihar clash
Clashes in the northern Indian state of Bihar between security forces and armed supporters of a member of parliament have left six people dead, including one police officer.
Army units and riot police have been deployed in the area to prevent further trouble.
According to reports, the clashes started when the police tried to investigate an allegation against a prominent member of parliament, Syed Shahabuddin, that he assaulted a police officer. Reports say police have arrested several people, and have seized illegal arms and ammunition.
